CORFAC Steps It Up at ICSC's RECon

What do you get when you combine seven CORFAC firms, 300,000 steps and dozens of meetings with clients and investors? An unbeatable experience at the International Council of Shopping Center’s (ICSC’s) 2017 RECon, which drew thousands of the industry’s top real estate professionals, including many CORFAC International brokers.

“I added up all of my data and walked 22.5 miles over the course of the show, which resulted in 20 face-to-face meetings with regional buyers and investors,” said Jason Price, Director of Marketing and Research for Commercial Properties Inc./CORFAC International in Phoenix, AZ. Held in Las Vegas May 22-24, RECon is the industry’s largest retail real estate trade event.

After a several-year hiatus, CORFAC International re-emerged in the Central Hall this year with a booth hosted by Commercial Properties Inc./CORFAC International in Phoenix, AZ; Patterson-Woods Commercial Properties/CORFAC International in Wilmington, DE; Podolsky Circle/CORFAC International in Des Plaines, IL; TRI Commercial/CORFAC International in San Francisco, CA; MDL Group/CORFAC International in Las Vegas, NV; Meacham/Oppenheimer Inc./CORFAC International in San Jose, CA; and Voit Real Estate Services/CORFAC International in Irvine, CA.

The booth, which prominently featured the participating firms’ logos and signage, offered meeting space where CORFAC members held over 50 meetings with prospective clients and industry colleagues. “I met with shopping center owners seeking representation and tenants who had interest in entering the Las Vegas market with multiple locations,” said Hillary Steinberg, Senior Associate with MDL Group/CORFAC International in Las Vegas.

New CORFAC member Tony Banks, Vice President with WCRE/CORFAC International in Philadelphia, shown above right with Joe Latina, Principal with Patterson-Woods Commercial Properties/CORFAC International in Wilmington, DE, says RECon is the top venue for the industry’s front-running retail real estate professionals. “The connections and relationships that are gained in the industry at RECon are unparalleled,” Banks said. Other CORFAC member firms that stopped by the booth included RPM Group/CORFAC International in Little Rock, AR; Gaughan Companies/CORFAC International in Minneapolis, MN; and Shindico/CORFAC International in Winnipeg, MB.

In addition, GlobeSt.com interviewed CORFAC retail experts about top retail trends they are seeing right now. “Grocery-anchored centers are still the top choice, especially for institutional owners,” said Alissa Adler, Managing Principal and Managing Broker with Podolsky Circle/CORFAC International. “Experiential retail is the new buzzword as big-box owners search for creative ways to maintain revenue streams,” she added.
