Laura Gentry’s entire career has been in commercial real estate primarily focusing on management and leasing of industrial, office and flex properties. She has been active in the Portland real estate community for more than 25 years. Prior to joining Capacity Commercial Group, Laura was the Senior Vice President, Regional Director of the Portland office of KG Investment Properties since 2004. She was accountable for driving the leasing, capital, and overall asset management functions of the managed assets as well as new business development. Laura grew the managed portfolio from 1.7M square feet in 2004 to 5.7M square feet in 2016 and developed a $10.5M, 190,600 square foot industrial distribution facility on 11.5 acres which was completed in April 2016 on behalf of an institutional client. Clients include Principal Real Estate Investors, Black Creek Group, Griffin Capital, Washington Holdings, Graymark Capital and individual high net worth investors. Prior to joining KG, Laura was responsible, as General Manager, for the entire Equity Office Properties Kruse Way office submarket, consisting of over 1.34 million square feet of Class “A” office product. Laura managed a team of 14 property management professionals, completed an average of 50 lease transactions per year, and supervised tenant improvement and capital improvements. She was responsible for developing two Class A office buildings: Kruse Oaks I (4-story, 92,000 square feet) in 2001 and Kruse Woods V (8-story, 184,000 square feet) in 2003. Laura has considerable experience addressing entitlement and property concerns with governmental entities, financial analysis of operations and developments, tenant relations, strategic planning, budgeting, and lease negotiation. Laura has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Oregon, is a Certified Property Manager (CPM®) and holds an Oregon Principal Broker license. She has been active in the Portland real estate community for more than 25 years. Laura is active in the Portland Chapters of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Laura served on the Board of Directors for BOMA for eight years, was the 2010 President of the Portland Chapter of BOMA and the Pacific Northwest Regional President of BOMA from 2011 – 2013. Laura is a past President of IREM Oregon Chapter #29. In addition to her real estate affiliations, Laura serves on the President’s Advisory Council for Lakewood Center for the Arts, the Property Committee for Girl Scouts of Oregon and SW Washington and is President of the Metro League of the Oregon Interscholastic Ski Racing Association.
