Capacity Commercial Group/CORFAC International Principals Honored as Top Industrial and Office Brokers in Portland

Portland, OR (March 24, 2014) – Capacity Commercial Group/CORFAC International, a leading full-service commercial real estate provider serving the Portland metropolitan market, today announced that two of the firms principals have won local awards for industrial and office brokerage services.

Don Ossey, SIOR and principal with Capacity Commercial Group/CORFAC International won the Broker of the Year Award/Industrial at the recent Commercial Association of Brokers and NAIOP awards ceremony held at the Portland Art Museum.

Ossey was recognized for his 2013 brokerage accomplishments, which included transactions on behalf of Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods, Tucker Rocky Distributing, Mastercraft Furniture Company and Goodwill Industries plus many others totaling over 1.3 Million square feet of sales and leases for the year. The award is based solely on production and Ossey was the #1 industrial broker in Portland.
Ossey shared honors with Scott Kappes, SIOR and a Senior Vice President with Capacity Commercial, for the Bill Naito Award. The Bill Naito Award honors the broker or team of brokers who completed the most complex real estate transaction of 2013. The transaction must be outstanding, noteworthy, and show the most initiative, ingenuity, originality, constructiveness, imagination, and ability. The winner is selected by a panel of judges from the commercial real estate community. Ossey and Kappes teamed up and completed four industrial leases totaling over 400,000 square feet in the fourth quarter last year on behalf of Holman Distribution Company, which owns 205 Logistics Center in Clackamas, OR. One of those transactions was a 125,000-square-foot lease to Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods, which was an expansion of their global distribution center.
Meanwhile, Capacity Commercial Group/CORFAC International Principal Scott Madsen, SIOR, was runner-up for top office broker of the year. Some of Madsen’s transactional highlights last year included representation of Westpark LLC in a 131,261-square-foot lease with Stoel Rives, LLP which anchored the development of Park Avenue West, a 30-story mixed use office, apartment and retail tower; represented Greenbrier Companies in a 57,654 lease expansion, lease renegotiation and renewal at One Centerpointe; represented Pacific Crest Securities in a 28,760 lease renewal at U.S. Bank Tower and Madsen also represented OTAK Engineering & Architecture in relocating to 17,230 square feet at the Director Building in Portland.During the Commercial Association of Brokers’ event, Joey Harrington, the University of Oregon football star and NFL player, gave a stirring talk on the value of failure and helping others to excel.
