CORFAC congratulates several members who earned top honors at the 76th Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) World Conference last week in New Orleans. SIOR recognizes members with its Top Transaction Awards, which honor the largest sale and lease transactions, ranked by dollar value, completed by SIOR members worldwide the prior year. 

Top Transaction Awards

In the Member-to-Member Award division, David Prior, SIOR, Frank Schulz III, SIOR, and Todd Taugner, SIOR, (shown below, l. to r) of The Klabin Company/CORFAC International in Los Angeles, CA, received the Largest Dollar Volume Member-to-Member Transaction in the Land category for the lease of a 1,589,940 square foot and 36.5 acre space for $38,604,532. 

In addition, Dan Granot, SIOR, of Joel & Granot Real Estate/CORFAC International in Atlanta, GA, earned the award for the Largest Dollar Volume Transaction in the Redevelopment category for the sale of 7 acres for $11,200,000 million. 

The awards were derived from nearly 650 SIOR members who reported close to 2,000 transactions totaling more than $8.6 billion in leases and sales in the industrial, investment, office, land, alternative assets, associate, and redevelopment categories.

SIOR Instructor of the Year

CORFAC Principal Don Ossey, SIOR, of Capacity Commercial Group/CORFAC International in Portland, OR, received the organization’s 2016 Instructor of the Year Award. Ossey is a repeat winner, earning the same distinction in 2011. Having earned the designation himself in 1996, Ossey currently teaches SIOR designation courses in construction and sustainable development around the country. 

SIOR Board of Directors Appointment

Conrad Bernard, SIOR, Industrial Specialist, with Boyd Commercial/CORFAC International in Houston, Texas, was appointed to serve as a member at large on the SIOR Board of Directors in 2018. Bernard has been elected into several leadership positions within SIOR, including President of the local Houston Chapter, Member of the Council of Presidents, Chairman of the Membership Standards Committee, Regional Director for the Southwest Region of SIOR and Chairman of the Keynote Speaker Committee, among others.
