Twin Cities, MN (October 3, 2014) – Gaughan Companies/CORFAC International, a leading full-service commercial real estate provider serving the Minneapolis and St. Paul metropolitan market, today announced that it represented a local bank in the sale of 157 acres of land in Lino Lakes, MN, to Canadian homebuilder Mattamy Homes.

Lou Suski and John Chirhart with Gaughan Companies represented the seller on the $7,034,780 transaction, or about $45,000 per acre, which involved five parcels of land totaling 157 acres. The property is located at I-35E off County Road 14 and is about 18 miles north of downtown St. Paul.

Lino Lakes is one of the fastest growing suburbs in the region and Mattamy Homes is no stranger to the area. Beginning with a single home built and sold in Burlington, Ontario, in 1978, Mattamy Homes grew to become one of the biggest homebuilders in Canada and has built more than 60,000 homes in hundreds of Canadian and U.S. communities. The company has operated a Twin Cities homebuilding division for years and has built communities in Blaine, Carver, Chaska, Forest Lake, Maple Grove, Medina, North Oaks and others in the Minneapolis region.

Chirhart stated that Mattamy also acquired a contiguous 210 acres of land from a different entity.
