Greensboro, NC (January 31, 2014) - David Hagan, SIOR, CCIM and Principal with Greensboro NC-based Hagan Properties/CORFAC International was named the marketing and leasing broker-of-record by Gateway University Research Park, which is comprised of two world-class campuses in the Greensboro area in the heart of the Piedmont Triad region. Hagan is the first third-party broker hired by the park’s operators to market available space to life sciences and technology/research companies.

The South campus opened in 2008 and is on 75 acres with a master plan for 13 buildings totaling 550,000 square feet when built out. It has two existing buildings – a two-and-a-half story, 63,000-square-foot building with available space ranging from 1,500 square feet to 10,000 square feet, and a 105,000-square-foot building that is home to The Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering. The campus is located at 2901 Lee Street in Greensboro.

The academic and research facility was created by NC A&T State University and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The building was awarded LEED Silver by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

The facility features the Nanobio Launchpad, which serves as an incubator for new nano-bio startup companies with space available on an hourly basis or month-to-month leases with options for individual offices, workstations and shared lab space. Occupants benefit from the close proximity to The Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering and to the Nanomanufacturing Innovation Consortium.

The building contains high quality lab space and specialized nanotechnology resources, including the Carl Zeiss ORION PLUS Helium Ion microscope, which is only one of six such high-powered microscopes in North America.

The North campus is 140,000 square feet in eight existing buildings and also on 75 acres with potential to add 450,000 square feet. It is located at 5900 Summit Avenue in Brown Summit, NC. All of the existing buildings are available for renovation and build out.

The campuses are 11 miles apart. The North campus is on U.S. Highway 29 while the South campus is situated near the intersection of I-40 and U.S. Highway 29.
