South MAC Church Buys Goodson Acura's Property brokered by Bradford/CORFAC

Irving, TX (March 4, 2013) – Drawing a yearlong process to a close, South MacArthur Church of Christ Inc. has acquired the 73,076-sf four-building complex of Goodson Acura, a 12.1-acre property with prime freeway frontage.

"South MAC Church," as it's commonly called, closed the deal within 10 days of a rezoning decision for the property at 1750 E. Airport Freeway, a highly visible location along Irving's eight-lane stretch of Texas 183. Goodson Acura has leased the sales center for one month, gaining time for finishing touches to be completed at its brand-new dealership, located at the corner of Lemmon Avenue and the Dallas North Tollway. In a longer term lease arrangement, the dealership's two-building service center will remain in place at the rear of the property.

South MAC's congregation will begin renovations as soon as Goodson Acura vacates the single-story sales center. The interior, roughly 50,000 sf, will be converted into a chapel with ample seating space and a sprinkler system will be installed. Cosmetic upgrades are planned for the exterior.

"To make the building work for a church, substantial renovations will be required," says Joe Santaularia, market director of Dallas-based Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services/CORFAC International, who's spent the past year scouring the city for a property with immediate and long-term potential for the church and its steadily growing, community-centered programs.

Goodson Acura's freeway-fronting location was the dealmaker. Bob Ginsburg of CBRE represented the seller.

"It was a slam dunk buy," Santaularia says.

The goal is to be holding services at the new location in three months. The church currently leases space at 1400 W. Grauwyler Rd.
