Riverwoods, IL (June 19, 2013) -  Steven H. Podolsky, SIOR, Principal, Podolsky|Circle CORFAC International, has been named the winner of the prestigious International Medal of Honor by the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI).

The honor, presented to Podolsky at the 64th World Congress of FIABCI in Taiwan, is awarded by the World President to those individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding level of leadership, service, dedication and volunteerism to the Federation. 

“Steve Podolsky is the kind of person who makes boards of directors work better.  As a member of the FIABCI International Board during my World Presidency, Steve was a vital part of the decision-making team,” said Judy Shenefield, FIABCI’s Immediate Past World President. “The entire organization of FIABCI benefitted from Steve's wise counsel throughout the year.  He has the ability to enrich every board deliberation and to say things that need to be said.  Steve was one of my most trusted advisors.”

 A FIABCI member for 20 years, Podolsky has served in many capacities in the U.S. Chapter of FIABCI (the Federation’s largest chapter) including as the U.S. Chapter President.  At the international level, Podolsky just completed a three-year term on the International Board and as Vice President of the Finance Committee.  He also was the liaison to the International General Assembly for both SIOR and CORFAC, both of which are Principal Members of FIABCI.  Podolsky was actively involved in the planning and leadership of the last two World Congresses held in the U.S. (Chicago in 1994 and Houston in 2004).

“I have known Steve through work for many years,” stated Alexander Romanenko, President of ADVECS Real Estate Corporation in St. Petersburg, Russia.  “As a past president of FIABCI, I often turned to him for advice. It was Steve's considered advice and wisdom that helped me make many important decisions.”

Moving forward, Podolsky will serve as Vice President of both the Nominations and Strategic Planning Committees.
