Hollywood, FL (December 6, 2011) – Susan S. Newman of Falls Church, VA was named the new Executive Director of CORFAC International (Corporate Facility Advisors), a U.S.-based, invitation-only alliance of leading entrepreneurial and privately held commercial real estate firms.Newman was the Secretary General (chief executive officer) of the U.S. Chapter ofThe International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI-USA) prior to accepting the leadership role at CORFAC. She plans to relocate CORFAC’s headquarters to Northern Virginia in January.“Susan Newman brings a proven track record of highly successful association management in international commercial real estate to CORFAC International,” said Doug Marshall, the incoming 2012 President of CORFAC International and also a principal with The Klabin Co./CORFAC International in Los Angeles, CA. Marshall also led the search for CORFAC to find a new Executive Director to replace Thomas P. Bennett, who is retiring at the end of this year after 12 years with CORFAC International.Newman’s career highlights include the establishment of the International Real Estate Federation’s U.S. Chapter (FIABCI-USA) after its separate incorporation from the National Association of Realtors (NAR) in 1991. She was interim CEO of FIABCI in Paris in 2010. She has represented FIABCI-USA at international real estate trade shows and conferences and is a well-known and respected leader with numerous industry contacts in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Earlier in her career, Ms. Newman was interim CEO of CORFAC International and both Senior Director of Programs and Education Director for the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).
