Toronto’s Ray Lyons Wins CORFAC International’s 2013 Charlie King Award

Toronto, ON (September 30, 2013) – CORFAC International 2013 President Bill Hawkins, SIOR, announced that Ray Lyons, SIOR, CCIM, with Toronto, Ontario-based Thomas L. Johnson Realty/CORFAC International has won CORFAC International’s Charlie King Award.

The annual Charlie King Award recognizes the CORFAC individual as the ‘Most Valuable Player’ for his or her contributions and development of CORFAC in the previous year or for multiple years of service to the commercial real estate network. In Lyons’ case it is certainly the latter.

In presenting the award to Lyons, Bill Hawkins cited Lyons’ involvement with CORFAC:

  • 2013 At-Large Elected Member - Executive Committee of CORFAC International
  • 2013 International Committee Chair
  • 2012-2013 Industrial Specialty Call Leader
  • 2010-11 International Liaison
  • 2001 COR$TAR Winner for Top Industrial Value Deal (CORFAC’s highest valued referred transactions)

“Through the years Ray has been a huge contributor to CORFAC International’s initiatives and he is a highly accomplished individual in the commercial real estate world. Ray is sincere, hard-working and fulfills his commitments. He is a worthy award winner,” said Hawkins.

In addition to running a successful brokerage business specializing in industrial real estate in the Toronto-metro area, Lyons has been associated with The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) since 1984, where he has served as the Chair of SIOR’s International Task Force, served on its Board of Directors and Executive Committee, served as a Regional Director for Canada/Global and served on the editorial committee of SIOR’s magazine, Professional Report. On two occasions, Lyons has won SIOR’s largest international transaction award and he has participated with CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) in various leadership roles.

Charlie King is one of the founders of CORFAC International (1989) as well as the founder of King Industrial Realty/CORFAC International based in Atlanta, GA; the award was named for King’s many contributions to CORFAC over the years.

Lyons was presented the award earlier this month at CORFAC International’s Fall Summit in Washington DC. In addition to Toronto, CORFAC has Canadian offices in Ottawa, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary and Vancouver.
